VITAL INFO ON OBESITY
Ozempic makes you lose weight and you don't feel hungry. It also brightens your mood/contributes to better heart health/ may slow fatty liver development.
It seems to do everything except clear your acne.
There is one big factor here that you should know about: these changes all reverse and go away when you stop taking the weight loss drug:
"For GLP-targeting drugs, the data is patchy because pharmaceutical companies typically stop tracking people once they stop taking the medicine.
Jebb and colleagues are among the first to trace this trajectory. They found rapid weight loss was followed by a rapid rebound. When people stopped taking semaglutide they regained all the weight lost within 10 months – far quicker than for behavioural interventions. “We’ve got to face up to what happens when people stop taking these drugs,” said Jebb...No one has actually given us specific numbers as to how many people this happens in, but we are estimating it to be around 95%.”
Dr Martin Whyte, a consultant in diabetes at King’s College Hospital NHS trust, said it was a phenomenon he cautioned patients about. “I haven’t seen a single person who got down to a weight on GLP-1 drug, stopped it, and their weight stayed exactly the same coming off the drug,” he said.
The findings do not undermine the efficacy of the drugs, experts say, but they need to be carefully considered by those paying for them and by patients considering their treatment options.
“We need to face up to the costs of lifelong treatment – and these drugs are expensive,”
I had to share this with my subscribers. Because this represents a step beyond our "magic bullet" world view in conventional medicine (just take a pill and make the problem go away...)
THIS IS DELIBERATELY CREATING A NEW MARKET AND HOOKING PEOPLE FOREVER ON A PHARMACEUTICAL SUBSTANCE.
An example of the dishonesty? What is the price of these drugs? Pay attention to how difficult it is for you to actually find that information. On a Google search, I asked the straightforward question "what is the average out-of-pocket cost of one month supply of Ozempic?":
--1st of all, two straight out advertisements popped up
--next search response was a request for whether I wanted to engage an AI response or not. I declined, since that is 10 times the CO2 footprint resources, for what should be a simple price point response
--next three websites were listed that each begin by telling you all the wonderful ways you can get coupons for Ozempic (these though are NOT listed as advertisements per se)
--healthline.com and drugscoverage.com eventually get to listing $968 to $1,368 as the average cost per month, somewhere within the gobbledy gook of their first paragraph.
--it is not until the 9th and 10 websites listed on my Google search that I can scan for MONTHLY UNINSURED COST and get a simple answer in the first sentence:
$997.58 says the first site.
$1,086 states the second site.
That sure looks like deliberate attempts to avoid answering my straightforward price point question, and monopolized 20 minutes of my time.
These big Pharma manufacturers are not being completely honest with us.
So next, pay attention to how much access we get to ongoing information about chronic side effects as more and more research on this "new way of getting healthy" unfolds.
BE AWARE. The conventional medical model has gone over to The Dark Side on what matters. What matters most is how much money can be made off of we consumers and how deeply we can be "hooked" on the meds to fix us.
We saw this with the tobacco industry.
We saw this again with the opioid epidemic.
We have not yet noticed this on our relationship to hormonal therapies, with too many American women on a "menarche to the grave" new dependence on artificial hormones (first phase, birth control pills/next phase hormone replacement therapy).
And now we have a weight loss drug for you to use the rest of your natural life. At the cost (to someone!) of $1000 a month.
Pass this information onward so that the people you love know and love can make informed decisions!
